On Saturday July 12, 2008 mountain bikers from every discipline gathered at Buckwallow Cycling Centre to show support and raise funds for a good friend and riding icon, Jim Best.

As many of you know, Jim was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis some time ago. This is a serious disease that, while not life-threatening, can be debilitating. Some of Jim’s friends set out to raise a little money to help Jim and his family pursue some alternative therapies, not covered by OHIP.

I remember when Morewood just came out. I figured they were just another flash in the pan, single pivot copy that would be around for a couple of years, then blow away.

How very wrong I was. Michael Douven gets the lowdown from the Morewood guys themselves.

The mental aspect of racing is often overlooked, when really its the most important part of most sports. Dropmachine lucked out, and got an excellent article from Jamie Shankland, a former downhiller turned pro track cyclist (but still a dirtbag, thank god.)

Whether you race or not, this is an article you should read.

This TopGear is a good one. We have goodies from Hope, SRAM, Santa Cruz, Kowa, Chromag, Kona, and Shimano. This is some primetime drool-worthy stuff!

floating rotors means the rotor itself can kind of slide side to side a bit as the outer rotor (braking surface) is actually held on little pins which allow it to sldie sideways, means the rotor is essentially self-centering, and any warpage should resolve itself, also allows for lighter alloy disc carriers (center piece)

Commencal has released a sneak peek at thier 2009 lineup. Really, there isn't much that can be said, its just better if you LOOK AT THE PICTURES.

Kona does this thing. They get a big trailer, dump a bunch of bikes in it, and drive it around. The point? The point is to let you try some Kona bikes.

And really, you should.

That was a fun day and the Coil Air with the new Magic Link was fun to ride. I'm sure it would be even better if we had more time to tune the suspension, but overall they rode pretty nicely.

See, heres the thing. When it came time to build up the Dobermann frame (see here for history), it demanded some good stuff. No trivial bits. Choosing that in itself was almost as hard as building the bike itself.

	Mini-Wheats - May 21, 2008 Solid build, not to mention the complete pimp factor. Coincidently I'm looking at a wheelset with those rims and that rear hub. I'm very curious as to how they're holding up and how light they actually feel.
