If you really want to experience the adrenaline and excitement of fishing, you need the proper gear. As such, Shimano today announced they will be rebranding SAINT as a fishing line, and cancelling the mountain bike line.

"Bikes are ok, and we still see value in continuing to produce top quality cycling components. Its just the freeride and downhill guys are jerks, and whine too much, and are never happy. So, we are taking the SAINT lineup and moving it over to fishing." says Phil Hallahan, executive director of the new SAINT fishing line.

"We know a lot of people are surpised by this, but we know that once you are out on the water, and see how incredibly exciting fishing is, the move will make sense. We are confident that once you reel in your first small mouth bass, and the pride of outsmarting that brilliant adversary the fish washes over you, we know you will agree with us." says Phil.

Shimano SAINT fishing will be designed to handle all the rugged actions of fishing, including casting, reeling, and sitting. Shimano will offer the  SAINT reel to start, and will soon retrofit the new 4 piston brake system as a means of controlling the line better. "I hate it when the damn fish steals all my line. Shimanos excellent 4 piston SAINT brake will help control line feed, with excellent stopping power for setting the hook. "

Shimano is also pulling another asset from the MTB world in the form of Thomas Vanderham. Vanderham will be fishing with SAINT gear, and will begin filming for the new round of fishing movies very soon. Vanderham was unable to be reached for comment, as he is out 6 weeks healing from a hook to the finger injury.

April fools. Fishing is for grumpy old men.
