Ray’s MTB in Cleveland, Ohio, hosted a pro-invite competition called B.I.K.E. this past February 8 and 9. The event was based on the basketball game of H.O.R.S.E. Athletes paired up, and competed by drawing from a specially designed deck of cards. Each card featured a unique trick, and teams would try to out perform the other by throwing down the trick anywhere inside the massive park. When a team was unable to perform the trick, they earned a letter. SRAM superstar athlete Jeff Lenosky was the event ringleader. SRAM showed up to have some fun by providing Chicago style hotdogs for everyone in the park. To heat up the crowd, T-shirts, wristbands and hats rained down during a product toss, while three lucky winners also walked away from a raffle with brand new RockShox Argyle or Pike suspension forks. SRAM, RockShox, Avid and Truvativ sponsored athletes like Branden Semenuk and Greg Watts were in the house. Even a broken Cam Zink was on hand, enjoying the scene. In the final round, Thomas Hancock found himself out of the comp after a bad spill, so Branden Semenuk was ‘called up’ and substituted for the injured Hancock. The newly formed team of Adam Hauck and Brandon Semenuk took the overall win and title of 2008 Ray’s MTB B.I.K.E. Champions! Greg Watts also landed on top of the podium winning ‘Best Trick’ award with a back flip, double bar spin.
SRAM and RockShox are official sponsors of Ray’s Indoor Mountain Bike Park. Ray’s is ideal for all skill level riders. There are beginner, sport, and expert sections along with a recently expanded XC course. If you enjoy your mountain bike, you’ll have fun at Ray’s.
