19-year-old British downhill star Brendan Fairclough announced today that he has just signed a two-year deal with one of the most successful teams on the International Mountain Bike circuit, Team Monster Energy/Iron Horse. The signing of the former Honda Team G Cross rider will see Brendan lining up alongside four time World Champion and defending World Cup Series Champion, Australian Sam Hill.

The season has certainly kicked off with a bang for me! Last weekend was Sea Otter and this weekend I raced our first UK National of the year held in Innerleithen, Scotland. The NPS is under new management this season and I must say it was refreshing to see a good buzz around the pits and a professional set up for the racing. The whole event was made better by having a international field of riders here too, Greg Minnaar, Julien Camellini, Marc Beaumont, Brendan Fairclough and Gee Atherton, just to name a few.

October 16, 2006 - Junior downhill sensation Sam Blenkinsop of Wanganui, New Zealand, has recently signed a multi-year management deal with 23 Degrees Sports Management. The UCI has released the final and official calendar for next year's mountain bike World Cup. the hold up was a decision between Houffalize (Belgium and Madrid (Spain) for the first cross-country event, with Houffalize getting the nod. Canada gets the traditional Mont Ste Anne, Quebec triple, with another triple a week later at Angel Fire in the U.S.
